Here in the states, we just celebrated Thanksgiving and oh, what a bonkers week it was in Pen Guinn Land. I didn’t even host the main event, and I found myself exhausted by Thursday night. I did bake a pie and make mashed potatoes, which is one of my ultimate comfort foods. I happened to catch the recipe for quick and perfect mashed potatoes, and I HIGHLY recommend it. The hardest part is peeling the potatoes.
Cooking them in the instant pot really helps to enhance the potato flavor, and once you drain, push them through a potato ricer, you hardly need add any cream or butter to get a smooth texture. They go perfectly with gravy, peas, turkey, meatloaf, or alone and perfect in a bowl to heal a fatigued soul.
We started Christmas decorations Sunday, which I’m hoping I can finish in the next day or so—I aim for simple but impactful—and then we’re full speed ahead on Christmas.
I can’t believe I’m 2 ½ months away from Fine Line’s release. I have the initial sketches for character art (guys, omg omg omg), I’ll be sending out Advanced Reader copies soon, and I’m looking forward to teasing more of this book.
Speaking of A FINE LINE, if you like reading things before anyone else gets to and you LOVE leaving reviews (or you’d be willing to because you LOVE ME), you can sign up to be an ARC reader (Advanced Reader Copy).
Not sure what an ARC reader does?
Well, in exchange for exclusive access to my book, you can leave an honest review on social media (GoodReads, StoryGraph, retailers: Amazon, B&N, where sold). Goodreads, in particular, is very helpful for indie authors, because of its direct connection to Amazon. Without verified purchase reviews, readers can still look up reviews on Goodreads to decide if a story is right for them.
Whether you’d like to be apart of A FINE LINE’S ARC team or not, I will need your help with reviews once the book hits the shelves in February. Without a big push from in-store and a major publisher, reviews and word-of-mouth can go a long way to a book’s success, so please consider reviewing once you’ve read A FINE LINE.
